私は白人の子供達が、親に「I love you」となにげもなく言ってもらうアメリカのテレビ番組を見て育ちました。

一度、友達がその子のお母さんをハグするのを見て、毎朝ドアをあけて学校へ出かける時は、お母さんが「I love you.」とその子に言うんだろうなぁ〜と想像していました。

私は、母に"何で I love you. と言ってくれないの？"と聞いたら

"それはマミーじゃないから。言葉よりも行動の方が大切なんだよ。"

"でも I love you. と言って欲しいんだよ。"

"それはマミーには出来ない。"

I grew up watching tv shows where white North American children were held close by parents who told them that they loved them. I once saw my friend being hugged by her mom and I'd imagine that her mom told her that she loved her every morning before she stepped out the back door to go to school.

"Mom," I asked, "why don't you ever tell me you love me?"

"That's not my way."
"Besides, words don't mean anything. Actions are more important."

"But, mom, I want you to tell me that you love me."

"I can't," she replied.

I'm looking forward to checking out this exhibition. It runs from January 14th to April 11th at the Museum of Vancouver. There are three exhibitions in all: The Art of Craft, by Hand (work from British Columbian craft artists), and Moments in Between (work from Korean craft artists). A group of the bois will be part of the Art of Craft exhibition.

先週赤ちゃんのカーシートを買いに行きました。病院から帰って来る時はカーシートがなければ車に赤ちゃんを乗せる事が出来ないそうです！こんなでっかいカーシート本当に必要なんかいな。

それ以外のもの、ベイビベット、ストローラ、ハイチェア、お風呂、全部揃いました。友人のクウイアーカップルの子供さんがもう三歳になったので、ほとんどのものを譲ってくれました。ありがとう！本当に助かります。同じクウイアーカップルの子供さんが使ったものを今度私達が使えるのは、とても嬉しいです。

子供の頃、お父さんにサーカスへ連れて行ってもらって、サイドショーを見に行ったそうです。（サイドショーとは"freak”「化け物」を見せびらかすショーです。）

そこで、世界で一番大きい人、オラフに会いました。ケイトは、一瞬で彼と心が繋がり、彼が小さいケイトに近寄りました。彼は、その大きな指に指輪をたくさんしていました。彼は指輪を一つ外して、ケイトの手首に付けてあげました。

二人は同じもの同士ってすぐ理解して、お互いを見て微笑み合ったそうです。
